APPSC Group II exam witnesses 78% turnout
About 78.09% attendance was registered in the APPSC Group-II service examination, which was held in Visakhapatnam on Sunday.
Officials said that the examination was conducted at 106 centres in Visakhapatnam peacefully.
A total of 36,944 candidates had applied for the exam. Among them, 28,422 aspirants downloaded the hall tickets, of which 22,195 appeared for the test while 6,227 candidates remained absent.
Officials said that the attendance stood at 78.09 when calculated with the number of persons who downloaded hall tickets. The attendance however dropped to 60% if considered with the number of candidates who applied for the exam.
The exam was conducted from 10 am to 12.30 pm. Officials made arrangements for drinking water, medical assistance with mobile health teams and uninterrupted power supply at the exam centres.
Candidate falls ill
It was learnt that a candidate fell ill due to the heat at an exam centre near Railway New Colony. Officials said the candidate gave the exam after being administered first aid.
