UP govt staff DA hiked by one per cent
Around 16 lakh state employees, including teachers, staff of aided colleges and urban local bodies, will benefit from Uttar Pradesh government’s decision to increase Dearness Allowance (DA) by one per cent with retrospective effect from July 2017.
The state government will incur an increased expenditure of around Rs 1,000 crore due to the hike in DA.
Previously, the state employees were getting four per cent DA after implementation of the Seventh Pay Commission.
However, the cash payment of the hiked DA would be paid along with the salary of January 2018.
Official sources said here on Wednesday that the government order (GO) for the hiked DA was issued by the state Finance Department on Tuesday night.
