TN govt announces bonus, ex-gratia for PSU employees
Chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on Monday announced festival bonus and ex-gratia of Rs 489.26 crore to Tamil Nadu government employees. This will benefit 3.69 lakh employees and contract labourers of various public sector undertakings and departments.
In an official statement, Palaniswami said the employees of Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation, transport corporations, Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation, Tamil Nadu Plantation Corporation, Arasu Rubber Corporation, Tamil Nadu Forest Plantation Corporation, Sugar Cooperatives and Aavin would get a bonus of 8.33% and ex-gratia of 11.67%.
The cooperative societies that have registered a profit would get a bonus and ex-gratia of 20%, while the others will get a bonus of 8.33% and an ex-gratia of 1.67%.
The C and D category employees of Tamil Nadu Water Supply and Drainage Board will get a bonus of 8.33%. The C and D category employees of Tamil Nadu Housing Board will get an 8.33% bonus and an ex-gratia of 1.67%.
The contract labourers of Tangedco will get Rs 4,000 each, while the labourers of civil supplies corporation will get Rs 3,000 each.
Those employees who are not covered under the Bonus Act will get Rs 3,000 each and those with primary cooperative societies will get Rs Rs 2,400 each. “With this, the regularised staff will get a minimum of Rs 8,400 and a maximum of Rs 16,800,” the chief minister said.
