Karnataka 7th pay panel report to be submitted soon
Almost a month after the 7th Pay Commission for revision of pay for state government employees was constituted, it will soon come out with a report. In order to prepare the report on improving efficiency of employees, members of the commission will be approaching general public and government employees with set of questionnaires in August.
The report on revision of pay is expected to be submitted in the next four months, said commission chairman M R Srinivasa Murthy. The last pay revision was done in 2012.
Speaking to reporters, Srinivasa Murthy said that after a gap of five years, the state government has constituted a commission to prepare a report on pay revision. “We started the process on June 27. Next month, opinion of public and staff will be taken,” he said.
Murthy said they have framed a set of questions to get the feedback from various stakeholders. These questionnaires are available on www.karnataka.gov.in/6paycommission.
Murthy requested officials of government associations, aided educational institutions and others to participate and fill the questionnaire. “This will help us get a better vision and can implement the same,” he said.
Murthy said they will also be taking opinions of MPs, MLAs and secretaries. They have also framed separate questionnaires for public and government staff where they give their opinions on efficiency of government staff, how to reduce work pressure and increase confidence,” he said.
The state government constituted the 7th Pay Commission in the first week of June.Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced the constitution of the pay commission in the state budget for 2017-18 for revision of pay-scale of about six lakh State government employees.
