Sub: – Denial of due representation to BSNLEU in the Pension Fund Trust and the Gratuity Fund Trust – reg.
With deep anguish, we wish to bring the following to your kind notice. You are aware that the BSNLEU is the biggest trade union in BSNL. It remains as the Recognised Union/ Main Recognised Representative Union, continuously from 2004. However, it is extremely painful to note that BSNLEU is not given due representation in the recently formed Pension Fund Trust, for the Directly Recruited employees. The issue was discussed with various officers in the Corporate Office. However, no one is able to give a proper reply.
We presume that the concerned officers in the Corporate Office, are under the impression that, BSNLEU is not representing the Directly Recruited employees. This is a totally wrong notion. Tens of thousands of casual labourers were regularised after the formation of BSNL. All these Regular Mazdoors are Direct Recruitees, and a major chunk of these employees are members of BSNLEU.
Similarly, a major chunk of the Directly Recruited JEs (erstwhile TTAs) and the employees appointed under Compassionate Grounds as well as the employees recruited under the Sports Quota, are members of BSNLEU.
Thus, it is crystal clear that BSNLEU is the trade union which represents a overwhelming majority of the Directly Recruited employees. As such, it is most unfair to deny representation to BSNLEU in the Pension Fund Trust. Further, BSNLEU was also not given representation in the Gratuity Fund Trust, which was formed earlier.
In view of the foregoing, we request you to kindly look into the issue and to ensure that BSNLEU is given due representation, both in the Pension Fund Trust and Gratuity Fund Trust, at the earliest.
