Union Minister for Health and Family Planning Dr Jagat Prakash Nadda and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will inaugurate Wellness Centre of Central Government Health Scheme built near the Government Hospital for Mental Care on Monday.
With the inauguration of the Wellness Centre, the long pending demand of the retired as well as working employees of all Central government organisations was fulfilled.
Till date, all employees, including the retired, were forced to go to Hyderabad to get the treatment and in the process, the patients and attendants were facing problems to go all the way to Hyderabad for frequent medical check-ups and treatment.
After the bifurcation of the State, local CPM leaders Ch Narasing Rao, K Lokanadham, B Ganga Rao, leaders of All Pensioners’ Association and CITU were demanding for a Wellness Centre under the CGHS here by staging protests.
Responding to the local protests and representations, local MP Dr K Hari Babu has put in efforts with the Central government by raising his voice in Parliament session and secured the centre here.
Jubilant MP Hari Babu, who visited the Wellness Centre here on Sunday, told reporters that he was happy that all the Central government employees and retired persons would get necessary medicare here itself.
The centre will be dedicated to the employees on Monday by the Union Health Minister, the Chief Minister and the State Health Minister on Monday.
He said that a temporary accommodation was built at a cost of Rs 23 lakh sanctioned by Collector Praveen Kumar from the CSR funds and the construction work was taken up by the APHMIDC.
Director of CGHS Dr B C Joshi and Additional Director Dr Vijay Bhaskar were monitoring the arrangements for the inaugural function, he added.
