Goa to approve seventh pay commission on Friday
The state cabinet is likely to approve the seventh pay commission recommendations and implement it for government employees in the next cabinet schedule on Friday, said chief minister Laxmikant Parsekar.
The state government wants to implement the seventh pay commission before code of conduct for assembly elections are in force. Earlier the state government had planned to implement it for November 1, which they missed.
The government employees had decided to hold a peaceful demonstration outside the secretariat at Porvorim for immediate implementation of seventh pay commission. Government employees wants government to implement seventh pay commission before December 7, among other long-pending demands.
The government is expected to entail an additional monthly liability of 72 crore after implementing the recommendations.
